Your rights

Under article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) you can apply to the data controller to:

• learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it,
• learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used for that purpose,
• know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred,
• have incomplete or inaccurate data rectified, have data erased under the conditions of KVKK art. 7, and have these steps notified to the third parties it was transferred to,
• object to a result against you that arises solely from automated analysis,
• claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

Researchers in the European Union also have the rights under GDPR arts. 15–22, including data portability.

What you can do in your account right away

Members can download their data as JSON, correct their profile, withdraw consent to transfer abroad for the AI assistant and delete their account from the account page. No separate request is needed for these.

How to apply

Under the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Applications to the Data Controller, send your request in writing, in Turkish, by one of these routes:

• a signed letter by post or in person: [PLACEHOLDER: data controller postal address],
• registered electronic mail (KEP): [PLACEHOLDER: KEP address],
• e-mail with a secure electronic or mobile signature, or from the e-mail address registered to your account: [PLACEHOLDER: application e-mail address].

The request must give your full name, Turkish ID number (for foreign nationals, nationality and passport number), postal address, e-mail and telephone if any, and what you are asking for.

Response time

Requests are answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest, depending on their nature; if the request involves an additional cost, the fee schedule set by the Personal Data Protection Board may apply. If the answer is insufficient or does not arrive in time, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Board.
