Consent to transfer abroad for the AI assistant

What is transferred

When you use the AI assistant, the messages you write, page images you explicitly upload and the catalogue context needed for the answer (for example the open search or manuscript page) are sent to the model provider. Your account details (name, e-mail, institution) are not sent.

To whom and why

The content is transferred to an AI model provider abroad (Anthropic PBC, United States) to generate the answer. The legal basis is your explicit consent under KVKK art. 9 (GDPR art. 49/1-a). Without consent the assistant stays off; every other part of the site works as before.

Retention

Assistant conversations are kept on our servers for 90 days and you can delete them at any time; uploaded images that are not attached to a draft are deleted after 24 hours.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent at any time in the Consents section of your account; the assistant is switched off at once and no new content is sent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier transfers.
